We'd like to give our students the opportunity to be entrepreneurs by operating a café in our school library. The students would learn valuable career skills they can use when they enter the workforce.
Students would:
- conduct research to determine what products to offer
- calculate pricing and profit
- create advertising
- manage funds and inventory
- earn customer service skills
- learn to be responsible
Profits would be used to improve our school and the student entrepreneurs would determine how the funds are distributed.
We are so excited because this project would provide the experience of operating a business and a comfortable place in our school library for the entire student body to read and enjoy refreshments!
However, we need your help. Through a grant we were awarded a beverage cooler, three tables, and nine stools, and a food cart. Now, we also need operating supplies such as napkin holders, napkins, sign holders for menus, and a locking cash box.
